10 People Who Took Body Modifications To The Unexpected Extremes

As humans, we've always wanted to change things around us and in us, it is only natural. From the development of science and invention of so many new things, there's hardly any arena, we've left unexplored not even our bodies.
Ear and nose piercings and dyeing hair have been in existence for a long, long time and it is barely even considered as "body modification". But there are a few people and in fact few types of progressions made in the areas of body modification that are just bizarre. I mean they have just taken things to the next level and the extremes.
I tried researching for a few of them and guess what? I found a bunch of them and some of them made me very uncomfortable and disgusted. Also, not a lot of them made any valid point of their existences.
Here, have a look.
P.S. Beware, some images down under are not for the faint-hearted.

1. Teeth Sharpening
Human teeth sharpening is a manual sharpening of human teeth, where usually the front incisors are sharpened. Historically, it was mostly done for spiritual purposes, but in modern times, it is a form of body modification that mainly has a decorative purpose.

2. Neck Rings

2. Neck Rings

In many tribes across the world, neck rings have been an important part of many traditions and rituals. To elongate their necks, tribal women wear decorative neck rings that push their collarbones and ribs further down, twisting them eventually at an angle of 45 degrees, way lower than what is natural. It looks very painful and I'm sure would be too.

3. Tongue Splitting

3. Tongue Splitting

Tongue Splitting is also famous as tongue bifurcation or forking. It's a type of body modification in which the tongue is cut centrally from its tip to as far back as the underside base. While some people do it to increase sensations when kissing, others include novelty, spirituality, and the desire to connect with one's body.

4. Corset Piercing

4. Corset Piercing

Corset piercing is probably the most painful body modification in which a person´s back is pierced multiple times mostly side to side and then laced up like a REAL corset. Most corset piercings are intended to be temporary, due to the pain and risk of injury they impose.

5. Magnetic Implants

5. Magnetic Implants

This is for those who like to wear different decorative objects on their bodies but would not want to get pierced every time. Once the magnet goes under your skin, you can pick up any metal object and attach it to your skin easily without any pain.

6. Human branding

6. Human branding

it also goes by the name stigmatising; it is the process in which a mark, usually a symbol or ornamental pattern, is burned into the skin of a living person, with the intention that the resulting scar makes a permanent decoration. Really, what the f#*%?
